27 weeks in - 13 left

I'm starting to dislike my pictures more and more as the weeks go by but I know if I didn't record these moments I would regret it forever.

Now we're rolling

Today was a good day. Kelly and I were able to sleep in quite a bit today. Cabo was trying, but he just could not get us out of bed. Once we did get up, we decided to get ready and go out and use some gift cards.

We went out to look for some closet organization kits. We went to the 3 big places, Menards, Home Depot, and Lowes. We finally found something we liked at Lowes. Surprisingly, they were the cheapest.

I finally got around to working on the room around 9:00pm. I made it through the removal of the old closet racks, the sliding doors, the door track and assembled one piece that we bought today. I am going to have to touch up the white paint in the closet. So I called it quits.

I will be sure to post some pics later.

Now, it is finally time for bed.

She's Growing

How can I tell she's growing

1. Earlier this week I was able to feel her move in one spot and kick in another simultaneously

2. Our week by week pregnancy book says my uterus is the size of a soccer ball! She must be loving all the room.

3. The band on my bra has been hurting me. Seriously by the time I get home from work my bra needs to come off - I think my rib cage is expanding.

4. Traveling up the stairs at work makes me winded. Lung capacity decreasing already?

5. Last night Pat slept on the couch. Why?? For the first time in 9 years of being together I was snoring so loud he couldn't sleep. (Yes, I am blaming my snoring on our unborn daughter and decreasing lung capacity)

Week 26

She is getting bigger!!!

Today I felt her move in one spot while kicking in another.

All I could think was... "She's getting bigger."

What to do, What to do

Week 25 here we are.

15 weeks to go, thats just less than 4 months. Holy Crap!!! Wasn't it August just yesterday? Where does time go? What do we still have to do? How are we ever going to get this done before she comes?

The list of questions seems never-ending:
1. Register - Two out of three locations done
2. Pick a name - Got a list of 15 names, they all have good and bad things with them
3. Get THE room ready - Wow... not even close. We havn't finalized our plans. We want to change the closet, paint, build shelves, possiby do something with the floor (Area rug?)
4. Now Kelly needs to keep track of movements 3 times a day. If the baby doesn't move 8 times in a 1 hour time span (usually after eating) we need to be concerned?
5. How is the dog going to react? Will he continue to progress with his new training during meal times?
6. When is the shower? - Thank the good lord I am not the one planning or throwing it.
7. How much time can we take off from work?
8. Where are we going to find day care?
9. How much will it cost?
10. How many more jobs do I need to get.
11. Who is hiring.
12. When is the next lottery drawing?
13. If I buy a lottery ticket I could win, or should I just put that dollar in a bank?
14. I wonder if Kelly wants breakfast in the morning?

I have 15 weeks to answer these and more. Wish me luck.

24 weeks: I think there's an alien in my stomach

Last night (24 weeks exactly) Pat and I spent some time catching up on our weekly pregnancy reading. We were a bit behind and Pat was on Week 23 reading when I adjusted from my side to my back. I could tell she was moving around and thought it would be nice for Pat to feel and read at the same time.

He continued to read while she was moving until I caught something out of the corner of my eye and said "I think my stomach just moved". At that point Pat proceeded to put down the book, get on his elbows and stare at my belly. Talk about being self conscious - I don't think anyone has stared at my belly for that long and that intensely before.

All of the sudden he smiled and I could tell he saw what I saw - a little bump, nudge, movement if you will on the side of my stomach. We continued to sit there for quite some time just starting at my belly - the two of us talking to her and encouraging her to move again and again and again.

:) It was a very nice night and one that we'll remember for a long time.

CBE Classes

Sign up for Childbirth Education classes - CHECK

I signed up for our Childbirth Education classes today. They start February 23rd and run every Tuesday for 6 weeks from 7pm-9:15pm. April is going to be here before you know it!

To confirm my registration I received a phone call from the teacher a little while later. She gave me her personal cell number to call incase I had any questions at all. (but please dont try to call at 3am)

She was so nice. I can tell there will not be a lack of conversation in the class. She was so talkative and informative, I must have talked to her for 10-15 minutes about who I was, who she is, her background, the new hospital and how they like to run their birthing floor, what to expect in the class, what other classes they offer, breastfeeding (and Medela of course), etc.

I'm really excited - it should be fun! She told me to wear comfortable clothing and bring two pillows and a blanket... something tells me that's not for naptime :)
