Family
This weekend was insane. It seemed like there was way too much going on. It did turn out to be an amazing weekend. We got to see a huge part of the family due to a baby shower, funeral , and fund raiser. It was very nice to see the family and spend some time with those who live further away. It was great to hear all the congratulatory remarks from the family. It was especially fun to see multiple people walk up to Karen and say congrats because people thought she was Kelly. All the difference a haircut makes.

Spread the news
We had our 2nd monthly apt yesterday. Through the grainy ultrasound machine we saw the spine, head, arms, legs, heart..... he/she is perfect! We're telling the world!

The waiting is the hardest part
Hmmmm...
I just checked babycenter.com and realized that we are entering week #12. Kelly just asked me what am I enjoying about this pregnancy and my sad reply was "not much". I want to make sure we are clear on one thing, I am very excited for this big step in our life. I am not enjoying it because there isn't much to enjoy for me. I am not the one going through multiple changes at once. I do not get the overwhelming feeling of hunger. Hunger so intense it makes me feel sick. That isn't me. That's her. I can't feel the baby yet. I can't see the baby, I am not Tom or Katie Cruise who can afford their own sonogram machine. (If I could, I would probably have one and yes, I would share it with my friends and family.) I get one appointment a month, and that doesn't even get me a picture.
I am ready for the waiting to be over. I want to be able to rub Kelly's belly and feel the baby move. I want to be able to watch a tiny foot trace across her stomach. I want to rest my head on her belly and get kicked in the nose (and I HATE being hit in the nose). I want the waiting to be over.
So here it is unborn child. Daddy is waiting for you, and he wants you to hurry up... but not too fast.

How I told him......
Not how I planned to at all. I had this plan that I would wrap up an infant cubs hat (I had hiding in the closet for a while) and have a sweet card. NOPE!!!! I couldn't believe it, I really didn't think I could possibly be pregnant. We hadn't even been trying that long, 1 cycle - that's all.
Pat was convinced I was pregnant the day my monthly friend didnt come (Monday). I on the other hand wasn't convinced until Thursday that maybe I should take a test. I got home from work before Pat, met Cabo and the ball he chewed up in his cage, and went upstairs to change.
The minute I took the test it turned positive. I didn't even have time to blink. Shock took over and I proceded to pace in the front living/dining room of our house until I saw Pat's car pull in the driveway.
Once he walked into the house I said "I have two things to show you". The first was the ball that Cabo chewed into millions of pieces during the work day. The second, as I turned my back and walked towards the kitchen... "I have a positive pregnancy test" - once he followed me into the kitchen I showed him the positive test and the infant cubs hat sitting on the island.

We're Pregnant!
Yes, you read that right. We're pregnant!
We haven't told a lot of people thus far, trying hard to wait until the first trimester is over (only another week or so left).
We're very excited about this pregnancy and can't wait for our family to grow.
