An Increasing Vocabulary and Another Celebration

Oh my gosh... she is getting SOOOOOO big.

Teagan continues to impress. She is learning more and more words. She has left "da-da" behind and moved on.

Her words consist of:
Da-da
Ma-ma
Ba-ba
Boon (balloon)
Duh! (Dog)... sometimes actually says doggie
Ball
yummy
piggy
she almost has "please" down...

Best of all, she responds with head nods when you get into asking her questions. "Teagan, are you hungry?" She nods yes and goes to the high chair.

Today is mommy's birthday so several people have been trying to coach Teagan to say Happy Birthday. When we picked Teagan up from daycare, we asked her to say happy birthday and she gave it her best. She had the correct number of syllables, the correct tone, but we could not actually identify the words she said. I am not sure they were actually words. But it sounded wonderful and made Kelly beam.

Good Morning!

Good Morning Bed Head!

Really?? Seriously?? She was getting a kick out of licking her feet and sucking on her toes the other night in the car. I couldn't get her to stop!

Okay - so I feel crummy... Teagan turned 13 months two days ago and Pat / I completely forgot to acknowledge it! Sorry Pumpkin ... we forgot... get used to it as it probably won't be the last time.
We love you!

On May 15th, 2011 Aiden Scott Aschoff was born. Teagan you have another cousin! Unfortunately there were complications and he's not feeling well. They have him resting and healing in the NICU.

Born at 8lbs 5oz he is a strong little man and will pull through. Aunt Karen is amazing and mommy is so proud of her.

The end to a GREAT year!

Today Teagan is 1 year 13 days old. Over the past 13 days we've had a couple more events worth mentioning.

FIRST: On April 30th we had Teagan's first birthday party. There were roughly 50 people that showed up. We held it at the Huntley REC center because our house was not nearly big enough. The day wound up being a fantastic experience. The weather was perfect - not too hot and the rain stayed away. The party room was a decent size and there were tons of toys for the kiddos to play with.

The theme was Mickey Mouse / Minnie Mouse since that is her favorite show for the time being and the couple characters that she knows by face. When it came time for cake she did not disappoint!

Towards the end of the party she was getting quite crabby and it seemed like she had enough. However when we got home she was wired and up for another couple hours. Must have been the sugar high!

SECOND: Today Teagan had her 1 year doctor check up. She weighs 24lbs 12oz, she's 30 inches tall and her head is 19 inches round. She performed well for the doc showing off her vocabulary, high-five skills & blowing kisses abilities. Her iron levels are a little low so we've been ordered to put her on a multi-vitamin but other than that - she's doing great!

Our little pumpkin is blossoming into a beautiful, strong, outgoing, little toddler. I can't wait to see what this next year brings.
